Two Dead, Dozens Injured After Car Ploughs Into Crowd in Leipzig
On Monday, a person was arrested by police after driving a car into a crowd in a busy area of Leipzig, East Germany. Two people have been killed and more than 22 are injured in this incident. Police arrested a 33-year old German citizen, who is mentally unstable. The victims, a 63-year-old woman and a 77-year-old man, died at the scene, while three others remain in serious condition. According to the local authorities, so far there is no evidence of any political or religious motive behind this incident. Witnesses described a chaotic scene where passersby apprehended the driver after his vehicle hit bollards near the historic St. Thomas Church.
